This simple pulav variety can be prepared with pickle and some veggies available at home without much planning! Avakai, mango thokku, gongura or tomato thokku are best suited for this dish. I used Varagu/ Kodo Millet for this recipe.

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Wash and soak millet for 30 minutes. Drain.
  2. In a small PressureCooker add ghee and splutter jeera.
  3. Add millet, veggies, salt and water.
  4. Close and cook for 3 whistles. Let the pressure settle down. Open and fluff up after 10 minutes.
  5. Yummy pickle pulav is ready!

  1. Thank you so much for this simple and easy receipe. A healthy quick to go dish. My mom said after tasting the dish ” Even Millets could be cooked this way? ” . The pickly tangy taste with veggies is quite unique for us.
