Manoharam is a traditional recipe of Tamilnadu. Thenkuzhal is made and put in jaggery syrup and then balls are made. The crunchy sweet balls tastes awesome and they have a special place in weddings also!

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Make Thenkuzhal. Please refer the recipe posted already. Crush and measure. I used the plastic cup which comes along with rice cooker.
  2. In a Pan add jaggery powder water, cardamom powder, ghee and make a thick syrup.
  3. Once it is warm enough to handle, make balls with greased hands.
  4. Store in an air tight container.

Note:

1. Those who are new to OPOS are requested to learn the technique from the beginning from OPOS Support Group before trying this recipe in OPOS method.

  1. Have made thenkuzhal using your measurements..turned out to be very crispy.Thank you Manni.
The jaggery paag, non OPOS style needs to be mithal paag for the Thenkuzhal to bind well else it falls apart.

    1. Hi Shanti,
As you said, it requires muthina paagu. That’s why I have mentioned as thick syrup for non OPOS method. Thanks so much for your inputs.
