Multi Millet Flour Dosa

Cooks in: 30 Minutes Serves: 4 People

Today I am sharing another healthy version of dosa using multi millet flour, barley and urad dal. Try this golden beauty which is full of nutrition and is best suited for diabetes.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups Multi Millet Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Barley Grains
  • 1/2 Cup Urad Dal
  • 1/4 Cup Poha/beaten rice/Aval ( I used red variety which is more healthy)
  • 1 Tsp Methi/Fenugreek/Vendhayam Seeds
  • 2 Tsp Salt

Directions:

  1. Wash and soak dal and methi seeds together for 4 hours.
  2. Wash and soak Barley separately for 4 hours.
  3. Wash and soak Poha for an hour.
  4. Using a blender, first grind dal and methi seeds till fluffy. Remove.
  5. Add Barley and grind coarsely. Add poha to it and  grind together till smooth.
  6. Add millet flour, water, salt and mix everything to dosa batter consistency. Make sure that there are no lumps.
  7. Ferment for 8 hours or over night.
  8. Make dosas and serve with chutney/sambar/podi

  2. I tried this dosa,, came out cripsy,tasty and healthy too.. I never had the idea of adding barley to make dosa…. thanks to Vijaya mam for new introduction of adding barley to dosa and making it nutrition… every one loved this dosa at home..I keep watching and making all ur receipes on Facebook..thanks for sharing receipes..

  3. Where do you get multi millet flour? I also have a same question, can we use whole kodo or barnyard or foxtail millet?

      Multi Millet flour can be made easily at home. Mix equal portions of Kodo, Jowar, Little, Foxtail and barnyard in equal portions and send it to mill. This multi millet flour can be used in many ways. Check other posts for the recipes. Thanks for your visit.

      Sorry for my late reply. Multi millet flour is available in organic shops. You can make the flour at home by mixing equal portions of Kodo, Little, Barnyard, Foxtail and Jowar millets and sending it to mill. This flour is very useful for making so many dishes.
