Shakkar Para is a snack item generally made during Diwali. Refined flour is mixed with sugar and deep fried. I replaced refined flour with jowar flour.

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Mix the rava flour, jowar flour, ghee, salt, sugar, sesame seeds and cardamom powder.
  2. Make a soft dough with milk.
  3. Cover and keep aside for 15 minutes.
  4. Roll the dough in to 1/2'' thick roti and cut into desired shapes.
  5. Deep fry in oil on medium heat.

    1. Hi Parvathi,
Hope you didn’t add extra ghee. If more ghee is added they may disintegrate. Make sure the dough is thick and not very lose.
